Since January 2025, Google listing suspensions have been on the rise, with many businesses across various locations affected. The delays in processing appeals have grown considerably, worrying companies that depend on Google visibility to draw in customers. What are the reasons for this mass suspension, and how should companies react?
Google is making active efforts to fix the problem
It appears that corrective measures have been taken in the wake of this wave of suspensions. NearMedia has observed a gradual decrease in appeal requests, although resolution times remain extended. Making bulk changes to multiple listings no longer appears to be problematic either.

According to NearMedia, complaints about suspended listings reached a record high in February 2025. Discussions on Google’s support forums are on the rise, particularly on Mondays and Tuesdays, when business owners return after the weekend to manage their listings.
Moreover, appeal resolution times have skyrocketed: while they previously averaged around 5 days, they now stretch to nearly 5 weeks. This slowdown poses a major challenge for businesses with suspended listings, whose visibility and performance are severely impacted while waiting for reinstatement.
More concerning still, suspensions are not confined to individual listings. Bulk and API accounts—used by large businesses to manage several locations simultaneously—are also experiencing issues.
To this date, Google has not provided any official explanation for this wave of suspensions.
Has Your Google Listing Been Suspended ?
Find out what to do in our complete guide!
At Partoo, we support thousands of businesses every day in managing their online presence.
Before submitting an appeal for the suspension of one or more listings, make sure they fully comply with Google’s guidelines. If the suspension is due to a violation of these rules, you’ll need to correct it before the listing can be reinstated.
So be sure to run all checks before reaching out to Google!
Sending your appeal early means it’s more likely to be processed sooner. We advise reaching out to Google support as quickly as possible.
Given that each case is reviewed manually, the current volume of requests may be slowing things down.
Still, there’s no need to worry – despite the longer waits, reinstatements are achievable!
Keep in mind that any alteration may result in a fresh manual review by Google.
To reduce the risk of suspension, we recommend avoiding modifications to critical fields such as your main category or business address, which Google may flag as suspicious.
However, this doesn’t mean you should ignore your listing – quite the opposite!
Keep it active by regularly posting photos and Google Posts, which will only strengthen your credibility and signal authenticity to the search engine. Avoid unnecessary changes, but do make sure all your information is up to date!
We’re closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated on any developments.
